Norma Glass

Norma has been a member of Swansea’s orthodox community all her life and has selflessly dedicated her life to promoting religious tolerance. She has served on the Board of Deputies of British Jews, SACRE, and the Community Security Trust, and was a founding member of Peacemala. She was awarded an MBE by the Queen for Services to Racial Understanding in Wales. In 2010, she was honoured by First Minister Carwyn Jones AM for her contributions to Race Relations.  Her talk marks the conclusion of a project to document the history of Jewish people in south Wales.  In association with the Jewish History Association of South Wales

Bu Norma Glass yn aelod o gymuned uniongred Abertawe ar hyd ei hoes.  Mae wedi cysegru ei bywyd i hyrwyddo goddefgarwch crefyddol.  Bu'n aelod o Fwrdd Dirpryon Iddewon y DU, SACRE a'r Ymddiriedolaeth Diogelwch Cymunedol, ac un o sefydlwyr Peacemala.  Dyfarnwyd MDE iddi gan y Frenhines am wasanaethau i ddealltwriaeth hiliol yng Nghymru.  Yn 2010 anrhydeddwyd hi gan Carwyn Jones, Prif Weinidog Cymru, am ei chyfraniadau i gysylltiadau hiliol. Bydd ei chyflwyniad yn nodi cwblhau cynllun i ddogfennu hanes pobl Iddewig yn ne CymruMewn cydweithrediad â Chymdeithas Hanes Iddewig De Cymru.
